Happy New Year Merrill Families!
I know that the first of January usually brings New Years resolutions for people, myself included. However, with all the unprecedented things that happened in 2020, I thought it would be best if I just focused on each individual day. My goal is to just be kinder to the people around me and myself.
As we enter January, please keep a few dates and information in mind.
HATS! GLOVES! and BOOTS! - It's that time of year again. Please remember to have your child layer up with clothing and wear appropriate outdoor gear. ONLY students with snow pants and boots will be able to play on our playground equipment. Without this gear, students will only be able to use the black top.
January 11th, we return to Model 3, Hybrid. Students in group A will come Tuesday and Friday. Students in group B will come Monday and Thursday. Wednesdays are virtual for all students.
January 18th is an inservice day for staff. No students will be in attendance that day.
On January 21st and 22nd, we will have our rescheduled Picture Days. Both e-Academy and in person Merrill students will be having their pictures taken. Please look for updated emails as we get closer to those dates.
The Merrill staff is so excited to have our students back! We can't wait to see you all again. Take care and stay healthy Merrill Families.
Model 3: Hybrid Schedule Begins January 11
Students will be returning to a Hybrid Schedule beginning January 11, 2021. Your child(ren) will be attending in-person the same days every week as shown in the schedule below. Wednesdays will be virtual learning days for ALL students.
Please call (920) 424-0420 if your child is going to be absent for that school day. Please make this call before 8 AM. If your child is leaving for an appointment during the school day please also call in so we can have your child ready and at Door 7 for you to pick them up.
It is important that you call in if your child is ill or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. If anyone living in your house tests positive for COVID-19 we need to know.
Please make sure that your student is properly dressed to be going outside. They will need snow pants, boots, winter jacket, hat, and gloves EVERYDAY!
Picture Days - Rescheduled!
Picture Days have been rescheduled! The new dates are January 21st and 22nd. Each group will have their pictures taken on their in-person school day.
Eacademy students, we would love to see your smiling face on picture day. January 21st between the hours of 8am-11am and January 22nd between 7:15am-10:30am. Come within those hours to Door 7 we will have you sign in and walk you up to get your picture taken. Parents please note only students will be allowed in the building.
If you have already used the prepay option please know that the money will be applied to your students pictures.
Here is the link for parents to order pictures and pre-pay online for them. This option is the best as it alleviates having more physical contact and lets parents order directly from their homes.
Or click here for the PDF order form for you to print off and send with your child on picture day. We will be sending these forms home Thursday January 14th and Friday January 15th please watch for these in your students' backpacks!

Grief is a result of a loss. This school year (and 2020 in general) has created a lot of loss and uncertainty for children. In this episode we talk with Kaelee Heidemann, School Counselor at Traeger Elementary about grief, how it might be playing a role in your child's behavior, and how caregivers can help.
