Dear Mustang Merrill Families,
Greetings! So excited that there is warmer weather on the way! Spring fever has already set in here and we have three full weeks until Spring Break. With the warmer weather coming, please make sure your children dress in layers for the day. It can be very chilling and cold in the morning during before school and morning recess times.
PBIS work for this month. In March, we will be focusing on how we “hold each other up.” At Merrill we strive to focus on and celebrate the positives. We will read the story, “You Hold Me Up” which encourages children to show love and support for each other and to consider each other’s well-being in their everyday actions. We challenge our staff to keep an eye out for these special moments and will ask them to acknowledge these students on our hallway display. Please talk to your child about what makes them feel supported at school and home.
After Spring Break, our 3rd through 5th graders will be working hard on the Wisconsin State Forward Exam. Please make sure your children try to be in attendance during their grade level dates. We will be providing snacks and brain food during their testing times as well.
Our lost and found area is very full! Please stop in and look through for any missing items or remind your son or daughter to check there. We have a lot of lonely mittens and winter hats.
We have some fun days coming up for March Madness the last week of school before Spring Break. These days are sponsored by our Mustang Student Council! March Madness Week will be held from March 16th - 20th.
Starting Monday, March 16th - Duo Day
Tuesday, March 17th- Wear Green Day
Wednesday, March 18th - Aloha Day
Thursday, March 19th - Star Wars Day
Friday, March 20th- Jersey Day
Enjoy the sunny weather!

Out of Attendance and Open Enrollment for 20-21
Please see the link below for important information on Out of Attendance and Open Enrollment for the 20-21 school year. '
Students Arriving Late to School: We have an number of students arriving late for school. Students are expected to be at school entering the building at 7:40 am when the first bell rings. If your student arrives in the building after the second bell at 7:45 am, they must stop at the office to check in before going to class. If they arrive after 7:55 it is counted as unexcused.
Pick Up After School: For the safety of all students, please make sure that you are on time to pick up your child. You should be at school when students dismiss at 2:45 pm. If you are unable to be at school at 2:45 pm, you should make alternate arrangements for your child's pick up. Please make sure that you keep a consistent routine and that your child knows where to meet you.
Change of Clothing: Students in Grades KG-1 should have an extra set of season-appropriate clothing at school at all times in the event they soil their clothes due to recess activities, lunch spills, bathroom accidents or other health issues.
