Season Greetings Mustang Families!
I hope everyone had a relaxing Thanksgiving break and enjoyed the snowy Sunday! Speaking of snow, as we go the next winter months, please remember to have your children dressed for the weather. Snow pants and boots are required to play anywhere off the blacktop. Also, please remind students of our Playground expectations and that all snow has to stay on the ground.
We have a very busy month of important family and academic events coming up during this month. The Oshkosh North Madrigal Singers will be caroling through our halls on December 2nd. A big thank you to all who helped with our Kiwanis Food Drive. A special thanks to the student council for putting this all together. The Mid-Morning Kiwanis club will be picking up the food on December 4th.
We also have a family event coming up on December 10. We will be going to the Festival of Lights at Menominee Park from 5:30 to 6:30 PM reservations must be in by Friday,December 6th. Last and definitely not least, we will be having our Winter Concert at West High School in the Alberta Kimball Hall. The concert starts at 6:00 PM. Please have your children there by 5:45 PM.
We look forward to seeing everyone at one of these events. Just a friendly reminder that Winter Break is December 23rd to January 1st. School resumes on January 2nd.
When: Tuesday, December 17th
Where: Alberta Kimball Hall (West High School) - Please enter at door #30 and park in the lot across from Pollack Pool.
Time: 6:00 PM
It’s hard to believe our Winter Concert is a month away! In case your child hasn’t already informed you, the concert will take place on Tuesday, December 17th at 6:00pm, in the Alberta Kimball Auditorium located at Oshkosh West High School. Students should arrive at 5:45pm so they can get seated in their proper spots at the rear of the auditorium and so they don’t feel rushed on their big night. Arriving early should give them time to use the restroom before they enjoy the concert.
Kindergarten Parents: Students should arrive at 5:45pm so you can find a spot for yourself and your child. This way, when your kindergartener is done performing, you can meet them at the stairs stage right (the audience’s left) and bring them to your saved seat to enjoy the rest of the concert together. Arriving early should give them time to use the restroom before they line up by the ramp on the south end of the auditorium.
“What should my child wear?” you might be asking. “Festive Holiday Attire” would be most appropriate. Bright colors and the holidays go hand in hand! I only have one request: leave jeans and tennis shoes at home. Be creative and thoughtful in what your children wear to the concert. Remember, all eyes will be on them!
Mrs. Byrom and Mr. Crowe will be sending out materials for children to practice music at home.
Thank you so much for your involvement. We’re so excited to perform for you on the 17th!

Students Arriving Late to School: We have an number of students arriving late for school. Students are expected to be at school entering the building at 7:40 am when the first bell rings. If your student arrives in the building after the second bell at 7:45 am, they must stop at the office to check in before going to class. If they arrive after 7:55 it is counted as unexcused.
Pick Up After School: For the safety of all students, please make sure that you are on time to pick up your child. You should be at school when students dismiss at 2:45 pm. If you are unable to be at school at 2:45 pm, you should make alternate arrangements for your child's pick up. Please make sure that you keep a consistent routine and that your child knows where to meet you.
Change of Clothing: Students in Grades KG-1 should have an extra set of season-appropriate clothing at school at all times in the event they soil their clothes due to recess activities, lunch spills, bathroom accidents or other health issues.
Winter is here. Friendly weather reminders…
Students should wear a coat when the temperature is 50 degrees or below. Students should have a hat and mittens or gloves when the temperature is 32 degrees or below. If there is snow on the ground, ALL students should have boots and snow pants to be allowed off of the blacktop areas of the playground. Please label your students clothing and boots.
Recess- Students will be indoors for recess when the outdoor temperature is less than 10 degrees, or the wind chill is less than 0 degrees.
Please remember that all this clothing takes a little extra time and school starts at 7:45. We have had a great increase in tardy students so please allow extra time at home to get ready!
